We have a total of 325 apartments. They include: 178 standard apartments, 70 enhanced apartments and 77 subsidized apartments.
There are currently 11 different styles of apartments in Peoples Park Tower. They are made up of: Studio (bachelor) apartments, One bedroom apartments and Two bedroom apartments.
The utilities included are heat, lights, hot water and cable tv.
An Enhanced apartment is an apartment that has been completely renovated and comes with a package of assisted living services such as Lifeline, newspaper, housekeeping, laundry, meals and medication management.
There are currently 77 one bedroom apartments in Peoples Park Tower that are subsidized by the Department of Social Development (formerly NB Housing). One must apply directly with Social Development by calling 1-833-733-7835. Peoples Park Tower does not maintain this waiting list.
We ask all residents to sign a lease in order to ensure everyone is aware of their rights and the standards of the seniors’ community. However, you are not held to a long-term lease at any time, and we will request only 30 days notice if you wish to leave for any reason.
No, there is no damage deposit required.
Our current policy states that one can only apply to transfer after one year of residency at Peoples Park Tower. There is a fee to transfer to another apartment and does not include moving expenses.
The building is for those 55 years of age and up.
There is absolutely no smoking allowed in the building.
Tenants are allowed one(1) domesticated bird in the apartment.
The Standard apartments come with a stove and fridge. The Enhanced apartments come with a stove, fridge, microwave and air conditioner.
There is no laundry hook up in the apartments but there are laundry facilities available on each floor of the building for your personal use. They are coin operated, $1.75 a cycle for both the washers and dryers. You may also choose to have our staff do your laundry on a weekly basis for a charge, giving you more time to enjoy the things you would like to do.
For those in a Standard apartment, there is a monthly fee for parking. For those in an Enhanced apartment, the package includes a designated parking space for those with a valid driver’s license who have their own vehicles. One space per suite will be provided.
Yes, the dining room is open to all tenants in the building. You can pay as you go or choose from a variety of meal card options.
All doors are secured 24 hours/day, and you will have your own personal key to come and go as you please. There is a security camera at the front entrance, which you can view on your television. We also have Nursing staff on site 24 hours/day.
Our monthly Seniors Activity Calendar is designed to keep you involved and immersed in fun and friendship. As a resident of Peoples Park Tower, you will be encouraged to share your thoughts and ideas on what activities you would like to see added to our current program.
Yes, there is a long waiting list for our Standard apartments with at least a 4 to 5 year wait for some style of apartments. There is a separate waiting list for our Enhanced apartments with a much shorter waiting time.
No, your name would not go to the bottom of the list. We would simply call you the next time something comes up or ask that you call us when you are ready.
All apartments have a storage closet within the apartment. There is no additional storage in the building.
We employ Personal Care Workers who can assist you with personal care, bathing, escorts to appointments. Our Health Care Manager would be more than happy to meet with you and your family to discuss what your care needs may be.
Because we are not a licensed care home, we do not go by levels of care. If we were to compare, we can usually accommodate the needs for someone who is assessed at a level 1 or 2.
